Why we operate this site

In Japan, data breaches and unauthorized access at companies, municipalities, and medical institutions are disclosed almost monthly. But the disclosures are scattered across each organization's website, making it hard for ordinary people to grasp what concerns them and what to do.

Leak Watch organizes disclosed incidents from primary sources and records them with severity and information types — to raise awareness of data breaches and spread measures that individuals and organizations can actually take.

Revenue & conflicts of interest

  • Leak Watch currently carries no advertising or sponsored articles.
  • We never accept payment from covered companies to publish, delete, or re-rate incidents.
  • If advertising or affiliate links are introduced in the future, they will be clearly stated on this page and in the relevant articles.
